Austin battle flaws in software engineering of high

Austin supply crunch for the software developer it’s bad enough in September to ask 25 Central Texas tech execs to fly to California in search of new talent.

They offer free beer and pulled pork Tacos in the Mighty, the barn bar in San Francisco, to attract a few dozen candidates. The next night, they headed to Sunnyvale, in the heart of Silicon Valley, for Tex-Mex happy hour which attract other 45 potential recruits.

After the resume sharing, exchanging business cards and a few advanced phone interview is over, no one candidate California has moved to Texas, according to the Austin Technology Council, which organized the trip.

“It’s even more strict than here,” said attendee Rod Favaron, CEO of Austin startup Spredfast. “The challenge is not only there are quite a lot of good software developer to go around.”
